Blueorange Coffee and Bagel
- GF options
- Vegan and vegetarian options
- Dairy-free options
Cuisine: Cafe food, International, All-day breakfast
Address: Margaretenstrase 9, 1040 Wien, Austria – Map
What’s Good: Bagels, pink lady smoothie, coffee
A cosy breakfast/brunch/coffee spot with chill vibes. All bagels on the menu can be made gluten-free. For those who are dairy-intolerant, cream cheese can also be swapped for hummus.
The Bacon Bagel – Lettuce, hummus, bacon, onions and tomatoes
Left – Mango jambo smoothie (freshly squeezed orange juice, mango puree, apple juice, chia seeds)
Right – Pink lady smoothie (berries, banana, apple, fresh mint)
The bagels here were very yummy. They have a crispy outer shell and fluffy inside. The bacon in my bacon bagel was perfectly crisp and complimented the savoury hummus and fresh veggies well.
For drinks, I really enjoyed the Pink Lady Smoothie. The strawberries and mint really shine through and the mint really elevates this drink. The Mango jambo smoothie was pretty average. It has a thinner and more juice-like consistency. The taste of mango was also subtle, overpowered by the orange juice.

What’s good: Styrian bruschetta, coconut panna cotta, gluten-free beer
100 percent gluten-free and lactose-free restaurant with great ambiance and friendly staff. They offer a wide menu of fresh and wholesome food, sourced from regional suppliers, including organic draft beer and juices.
Styrian Bruchetta – roasted pumpkin, pumpkin hummus, chopped pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil
“Zum Whol” Wild Salmon Burger – gluten-free sesame bun with red onion jam, vegan mayo, tomatoes, a thick and juicy salmon patty and a side of rocket and salami salad
The bruschetta was quite special, using everything pumpkin here. The roasted pumpkin on top was so beautifully caramelized, it really added an extra boost of flavour to this already standout starter.
I also enjoyed the salmon burger here. The fish patty was thick and juicy, which I think all fish burger lovers would really enjoy.
Left: Violet-Holunder-Lemon Lemonade
Right: Organic Apple Cherry Juice
“Zum Whol” Wild Salmon Burger
Coconut Tonka Beans Panna Cotta
For drinks, they offer homemade iced teas and lemonades as well as organic juices that are freshly harvested and prepared in their own fruit processing plant. Many people also rave about the organic gluten-free draft beer, which is worth a try if you enjoy a good ol’ glass of cold beer.
For dessert, I had the most amazing panna cotta. It was a light cream to curd texture with robust vanilla bean flavour. The sweet and tangy compote of strawberries, raspberries and currants complimented the vanilla and dessicated coconut really well. A definite top on my list for desserts.

I only managed to try the dahl here but I must say it was one of the best I’ve eaten. Very balanced, creamy and hearty!

What’s good: Verdure pizza
A chain restaurant with a made-to-order, self-service concept where you order at the counter and your food is made fresh on the spot. Main gluten, dairy and egg free options are the pizza. For pasta, they only offer zoodles as a GF option.
Their locations all feature lots of spacious seating with a relaxing vibe. Great place to chill for long hours.
Verdure (GF base) – grilled veggies, mushrooms, red onions, vegan mozarella
Pizza Hawaii (GF base) – tomato sauce, vegan mozarella, italian cooked ham, pineapple
Taste-wise I’d say that the pizzas were pretty average. The iced chocolate I had was not bad. Would be great if they could offer gluten-free pasta as well as those looked pretty good.

What’s good: La peche blanche
A bakery that sells a variety of classic breads, pastries and Viennoiserie specialites. However, the only gluten-free and vegan items available are 2 very pretty french pattisserie-style cakes – La peche blanche and Le chocolat.
Le chocolate, La peche blanche
The chocolate one did not really impress me and tasted pretty average. I did however enjoy the peach cake, as the flavours of peach and earl grey tasted really good together.

Many reviews rave about the lavender blueberry flavour and I must say that it did not dissapoint! It was so subtly floral yet creamy, very addictive indeed. The basil flavour was another surprisingly good one which was very refreshing.
