The TIAN Bistro concept is one that goes beyond just what’s on the plate. Driven by a deep connection to nature and a forward-thinking approach to sustainability, this unique dining concept focuses on creating soul-nourishing dishes that are as ethical as they are delicious.
Led by Paul Ivić, TIAN Bistro offers a seasonal menu that celebrates fresh, organic ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers who have become close partners over the years. This commitment to sustainability, paired with a shared passion for vegetarian cuisine, forms the foundation of TIAN’s mission to bring a mindful, sustainable approach to every bite.

Their menu follows an omakase style, which is a literal translation of “leaving the details up to you”. Their chefs take charge of presenting you with dishes made from the best seasonal ingredients available.
Everything on the menu is created for sharing for parties up to 2 of more.

They are able to cater to vegan and gluten-free requests which should be made in advance.
The menu above shows the original vegetarian and non gluten-free menu. The only item different for me was the cottage cheese dessert that was swapped out for a chocolate cake.

The dishes here were really special and creative and I’ve enjoyed every single one! The signature TIAN beetroot tartare was excellent. It had bits of shitake mushroom which gave it a nice chewy texture and almost robust “meaty” flavour.
The Muhammara was equally delicious. A classic Middle Eastern dip made from roasted red peppers, walnuts and spices, the wonderful notes of cumin and pepper were strong, bringing together a full mix of savoury, sweet and smoky.
Both dips paired wonderfully with my gluten-free bread which leaned on the crispy side, giving it a nice textural contrast.

Another special dish was the watermelon tartare with tarragon oil and cucumber. It was a refreshing twist with a touch of spice and heat and reminded me almost of the South Asian pickled salad called Achar. Very interesting indeed!

One of my favourite dishes of the night would be the leek pasta. The sauteed leeks imparted a beautiful charred, onion-y taste to the sauce which was absolutely scrumptious! There was a savoury depth to this mildly sweet, creamy caramelized leek sauce which I think I’m obsessed 😍

The desserts here were equally amazing and were polished up in no time. They are definitely at the top of my list for desserts in Vienna.
The coconut rice pudding dessert stood out to me the most, as it reminded me of the Thai dessert mango sticky rice. This fusion of flavours with the slighty salty rice pudding and sweet cherry sorbet was really something special.
