Vegan's Prague
- 100% vegan restaurant
- Gluten-free options
Cuisine: Cafe food, Czech, International
Address: 36, Nerudova 221, Mala Strana, 11800 Praha 1, Czechia – Map
What’s Good: Potato goulash, Fried rice with smoked tempeh
A lovely vegan restaurant in old town Pragueย located just next to Prague castle, you will be able to find some good veganized Czech food like paprika “chicken” and goulash here, as well as other international food like moussaka, lasagne and fried rice.
Fried rice with smoked tempeh, shiitake mushrooms and vegetables
Eggplant moussaka with lentils, cashew cheese and bechamel
Entrance to Vegan’s Pragueย
Left: Fresh orange juice
Right: Coconut lemonade
Raw chocolate cake
The fried rice here is slightly sticky and cooked with a mildly sweet sauce, not the typical Asian kind of fried rice with the classic “wok hei” flavour. It was however surprisingly very yummy!
The eggplant moussaka was also not bad, though I didn’t think it tasted like moussaka but more like a regular lentil pie. I think more tomato and vegan bechemel sauce would have made it taste more moussaka-like.

What’s good: Tomato soup, pizzaz, panna cotta
Homemade raspberry lemonade
Vegan tomato soup
Prosciutto a funghi (GF base and vegan cheese)
The tomato soup here is the BEST tomato soup I’ve ever tasted! It is full-bodied and fresh, with a mix of tangy, savoury and sweet all the the same time. The vegan parmesan on top also really brings out the richness of the soup.
The pizza was fantastic too, with fresh ingredients and a nice chewy base.
One thing about this place is that their vegan cheeses are amazing. Their vegan parmesan and mozzarella look and taste so much like the real thing my confused brain didn’t know how to explain that to my happy gut ๐คฏ๐
03.
Bagel Lounge
- GF options
- Vegan and vegetarian options
Cuisine: Cafe food, Breakfast, Western
A cosy and casual cafe serving breakfast foods, salads and soup, Bagel Lounge is popular for their homemade bagels crafted by a Michelin chef.
What’s good: Zucchini and hummus bagel, Fries
Zucchini and hummus bagel (GF bagel, add extra salmon)
Fries with barbecue sauce
Ordering here is a bit confusing as the physical menu in store specifies “gluten” in all their bagels. However all bagels can be made gluten-free so do check with staff.
They however do not have vegan cheese and most sauces had eggs in them, so I simply ordered a vegan bagel and added salmon.
Their bagels are on the cakier side without that typical (slightly) crisp exterior. I did not mind it as it still tasted pretty good. The filling was also delicious and the fries on the side were super crispy and satisfying!

Uttapam
Left: Pistachio cupcake *NOT GF
Right: Banana bread (GF)
Left: Hazelnut cupcake
Middle: Raspberry cheesecake
Right: Banana breadย ย ย *All 3 items are GF
I enjoyed my uttapam dish. The sambar and tomato chutney were both very flavourful and hearty. Coconut chutney on the other hand, is not a favourite of mine as I find the taste generally too overpowering despite being a coconut lover myself.
Both drinks were very good but I must say the mango lassi was phenomenal ๐ Perfectly ripe mangoes in a creamy yoghurt drink is simply heavenly.
Another outstanding item is their bakes. Everything I tried was fantastic, but I must say the banana bread is the BEST I’ve ever had! Generous thick slices with huge chunks of chocolate chips and nuts. Flavour and texture for this is just spot on ๐๐ป

The GF items on the menu are mostly Asian and Hawaiian food like Buddha bowls, poke bowls, rice noodles and veggie curry.
I love myself a good vegetable curry and this one here really satisfies. It was filled with so much healthy vegetables in a rich and creamy sauce with the right amount of spices. Comfort food indeed!

Bottom: MyRaw pizza with tomato sauce and cashew cheese
Crepes with chocolate cream, banana and berries
Everything I had at the cafe was pretty good. Though I must say I wasn’t used to my “hot chocolate” not being hot.
The standout for me here would be the raw pizza. This was a literal umami bomb ๐คฉโจ Every bite was filled with intense flavour of spices, nutritional yeast and sundried tomatoes, absolutely amazing and a must-try if you ever visit!

What’s good: Thai red curry, Chocolate vegan mousse with cherry jam, Lavender lemonade
A restaurant located in the vicinity of Charles Bridge, this place offers healthy and delicious vegetarian meals with vegan and gluten-free options.
The menu leans towards international cuisine, with dishes from all over the world like Moroccan harira soup, Thai red curry and poke bowls.
The interior of this restaurant is whimsically painted with night sky murals, which is more clearly seen if you visit in the day. At night, the place is lighted with relaxing ambient lighting.
Left: Lemonade with fresh mint
Right: Lavender lemonade
Top: Parmesan pleasure burger **NOT GF, contains dairy
Bottom: Grilled broccoli steak with mushroom cream puree, truffle oil and glazed carrots
Chocolate vegan mousse with cherry jam and a pinch of chili
The broccoli steak I had was pretty average. I found the broccoli a bit too hard for my liking, though the carrots were soft enough and the mushroom cream was delicious.
The lavender lemonade is popular here and really surprised me as it was really good. Subtly floral, tasty and refreshing!
The chocolate mousse was really good as well. The chocolate was decadent and rich, and paired really nicely with the fruity notes of the cherry layer at the bottom.

Cherry
Coconut with forest fruits
I ordered 2 sweet dumplings as I misread the menu and didn’t know that a GF and vegan savoury dumpling was available ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Both sweet dumplings were good, but my favourite would be the coconut one. The sweet coconut cream was very fragrant and complimented the fruity notes of the berries well.
The cherry dumpling was also good but on the tart side. Personally I would have preferred it a little sweeter.

What’s good: Prosciutto pizza
Homemade lemonade
Prosciutto funghi pizza with vegan cheese
The pizza I had was not bad. I can see why people rave about the dough as it does have good flavour and texture, though I think a few more minutes in the oven to give it a mildly charred flavour would have been more desirable ๐
Overall just sad that there were no vegan bakes to try ๐ฅฒ hopefully you get better luck!
