Prepare to meet the health-conscious superheroes known as Health Lab! The brainchild of Jess Thomas from the land Down Under, this Australian-based company is on a mission to bring you snacks that are so pure and guilt-free, they practically levitate with each bite.

This lineup of treats are not only plant-based, but they’re also gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan friendly, preservative free, and even palm oil free!

I was truly excited after stumbling upon this brand on social media, and getting my hands on these were my top priority during my short holiday to Australia 😁

A number of chocolate bars from this brand remind me of legends of the chocolate world. Think healthier versions of Twix, Snickers, Cherry Delight, and Bounty bars!

According to the brand’s website, this bar was described as having a dreamy rose -flavoured “jelly” layer that is snuggled up next to a fluffy coconut layer and all dressed up in their signature mylk chocolate.

The rose-flavoured layer was reminiscent of Turkish delight. The texture was however not jelly-like at all but more like a sticky caramel. Overall, this bar was okay but I’d say but I’m not exactly head-over-heels for rose-flavored chocolate 😅

If you’re a fan of rose-flavored surprises and don’t mind a jelly impostor, give it a whirl as you might like it!

Charlotte’s Fix

Update 24 March 2024: This flavour has been discontinued.

When I first saw this bar, my first thoughts was that that it’s healthy Twix bar! I was genuinely excited for a Twix-like goodness without the gluten and dairy demons of yore 👻

At first bite, I was not able to distinguish the different layers of the biscuit and caramel. The biscuit was not crisp and I’d liken it to biting into a piece of fudge. Taste wise it also strays from the familiar Twix path, with a hint of chickpea flour sneaking its way onto my palate.

Now, don’t get me wrong though, I still enjoyed this bar a lot, just not as a Twix dupe. The taste of chickpea flour was subtle and still able to be masked quite nicely by the chocolate. The caramel layer was also delightfully chewy with a balanced sweetness without going overboard.

In the end, I must say that I did find joy in this bar’s unique identity. It’s just no Twix doppelgänger, so don’t expect it to fill the Twix-shaped hole in your heart 😄

Hold onto your sweet tooth, folks, because we’ve got a chocolate bar that’s a copycat of the legendary Cadbury’s Cherry Ripe!

This delightful creation by Health Lab knows how to channel that iconic Cherry Ripe flavor like a pro. Taste-wise, I’d say that it tastes very much like the original, most probably due to the cherry flavouring used in the bar.

Now, here’s the deal: Health Lab’s version might be missing those glace cherries that sprinkle the original Cherry Ripe bar. I must say that those cherries were like the cherry on top of a mouthwatering sundae. They added that extra oomph and joy that made every bite a little slice of paradise.

So, while we might miss those little glace cherries, let’s not forget to appreciate the wonderful chewy coconut layer that stands its ground, keeping the bar true to its roots.

In the end, this bar might not be a perfect 10 without those glace cherries, but it still deserves a round of applause.
