What’s Good: Cupcakes, Crackers with vegan cream cheese, cookies
Wild Grains Bakery is a haven for those with dietary restrictions. They offer a variety of cafe food and bakes that are both gluten-free and vegan.
The bakery uses a variety of heritage, ancient, and wild grains in their bakes, with all their flour being freshly milled. Breads are naturally leavened and slow-fermented for up to 36 hours, while pastries, cakes, and cheeses are all handmade from scratch in-house. Their cakes and desserts are also refined sugar free, lightly sweetened naturally with maple syrup or coconut sugar.

Both of the cupcakes I ordered were good, but I particularly enjoyed the Strawberry crunch golden oreo cream cheese cupcake. The strawberry cake had a light lemon flavour which I really liked, that paired well with the very yummy cream cheese frosting on top. It’s like a fruity take to a red velvet cake. Both cupcakes had a slightly denser texture compared to non-GF cupcakes.
The sourdough crackers with their house-made vegan cream cheese was another show-stopper. The cracker was incredibly crispy, crunchy and flavourful. Aromatic notes of rosemary and mixed herbs really comes through beautifully in this cracker. The vegan cashew cheese was also delectable, with a balanced mix of salty, tangy and creamy.
The sourdough pizzas were nice as well. The toppings were generous and really fresh. The pizza crust had nice crispy edges with a slightly chewier centre. They had sadly ran out of vegan cheese, which would otherwise have made the pizza much better in my opinion.
The bakery also has a great selection of gluten-free and vegan cookies, so I ordered a box of cookies to takeaway. Both the Double chocolate crinkle brownie cookie and the Ginger molasses cookie are on the sweeter side and make great dessert cookies. They have a soft and chewy texture that reminded me of Subway cookies. They did harden up and lose their chewiness when I kept them in the fridge overnight in the paper box they came in, so do store them properly if you want to keep them chewy.
The oatmeal cookies were all much lower in sugar content, chunky and hearty! They make great breakfast cookies in my opinion and I really enjoyed all 3 flavours.

Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar
- GF options
- Vegetarian options
Cuisine: Eastern Thai
Address:
90 Sukhumvit 33 Alley, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand – Map
What’s good: Baracuda salad, Stir fried squid with glass noodle, Hom Aop Choey (apple juice, cinnamon syrup, lime and ginger ale mocktail)
Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar brings the vibrant flavours of Thailand’s eastern Trat province to the capital. Housed in a charming heritage-style home, the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant celebrates generations-old family recipes with herbaceous curries, fresh seafood, and regional specialties rarely found elsewhere in Bangkok.
Their dishes are prepared without MSG, using fresh ingredients sourced from small producers in the Eastern part of Thailand.
Their menu offers an extensive array of gluten-free options 🤩, as well as uncommon and unique Thai dishes that I’ve not tried or heard before. Definitely an interesting place to visit for any Thai cuisine enthusiast.

Complimentary welcome drink – Bael fruit tea

Right: Trat Si Tong (pineapple juice, coconut syrup, Thai sweet basil, ginger)

Massaman curry with chicken thigh and unripened durian
I first heard about this restaurant when I watched a Youtube video of Michelin chef Pam Pichaya Soontornyanakij from Potong eating here. She mentioned that the Barracuda salad was her favourite appetizer and I definitely had to try it!
It was everything she described. A bed of fresh shredded cabbage with mint leaves, spring onion, small lemongrass rings and coriander, topped with barracuda meat. The unique Trat-style dressing had lime, chillies, sugar and peanut. The pairing of the fish and herbs with the slightly tangy, sweet and crunchy peanut brittle sauce was simply excellent.
My next favourite dish would be the Stir-fried squid in glass noodles. This is fried using their signature shrimp paste, and the glass noodle just soaks up the flavour beautifully. It is smokey, umami and simply flavourful.
We also ordered a Massaman curry with chicken and unripened durian. I’ve never tried durian in a curry before so that definitely piqued my interest in this dish. Apparently, durian is commonly used instead of potatoes in Eastern Thai provinces like Trat and Chanthaburi, which are also durian heartlands. When cooked, the durian loses its pungent odour and softens into a creamy texture that blends well in curries.
The curry was mild, as with all Massaman curries, and slightly sweet. The durian tasted almost like a sweet potato, dense and sweet with a small amount of fibre strands. I definitely would not have guessed that durian was used in the curry, and it was interesting nonetheless!
For drinks, we ordered 2 mocktails. Both were really good and not overly sweet which I prefer. My favourite would be Hom Aop Choey, which is made up of apple juice, cinnamon syrup, fresh lime and ginger ale. The other drink, Trat Si Tong, made from pineapple juice, coconut syrup, Thai basil and ginger, tasted very much like a pina colada!

Mango Vegetarian & Vegan

They also have a couple of cute resident cats if you’re a cat lover. Another incentive to visit this place 😻
What’s good: Ginger rice, kombucha, juices

Ginger rice

Massaman curry with rice

Passionfruit and pineapple kombucha

Kale ginger celery green apple cucumber lemon juice
The Ginger rice was absolutely delicious! Perfectly sauteed and so aromatic and flavourful 😋 The bowl had a mix of fresh veggies and cooked items like tofu nuggets and deep fried ginger slivers. The ginger is gloriously fried to a crisp, and when mixed with the medley of veggies like kale, sprouts, cherry tomatoes, pomegranates, chestnuts, beans and pumpkin, was altogether an interesting contrast of fresh flavours and textures.
The Massaman curry was very mild tasting, sweet and non spicy. Prior to this I had no idea that a Massaman curry was meant to be mild, but this makes it suitable for kids and also people who prefer lighter and subtle curries. My personal preference is a bold and robust curry, so I’d say that this was not for me. It was however good and my husband enjoyed it!
The drinks were a standout for me here. The freshly pressed Kale ginger celery green apple cucumber lemon juice was deeply refreshing and served in the only fashion I approve for juices – chilled with no ice 😎
The Passionfruit and pineapple kombucha was excellent as well. It was a fizzy, mix of sweet and sour kind of drink which was surprisingly addictive! Their kombuchas are all homemade, and they offer quite a number of different flavours, some which are seasonal.

- GF options

What’s good: Onion bhajji, crispy aloo tikki chaat
Naivedyum is a quaint little cafe that serves vegan and vegetarian fusion cafe food, with quite a number of gluten-free options. All the food is made from scratch, including all the sauces, with nothing being frozen. You can really taste the homemade goodness of the food here!
The online menu may not be completely accurate as I remember seeing more GF options on the physical menu at the cafe.

Onion bhajji

Masala dosa wrap

Falafel wrap (NOT gluten-free)

Masala chai with oat milk

Dining area
The onion bhajji was my absolute favourite dish here 🤩 It was incredibly crisp and perfectly seasoned. Fragrant cumin seeds and aromatic curry leaves weave through the batter, adding layers of warmth and depth that made it intensely flavourful. Paired with the refreshing mint and coriander chutney, the bright, cooling herbaceousness cuts through the warm and rich spices perfectly.
The masala chai with oat milk was beautifully creamy. The gingery notes were very strong for this tea, with the typical spice notes taking a backseat. I’d say the tea was nice, but my personal preference for a chai tea would be spices such as cardamon, cloves, cinnamon and star anise taking centre stage. The tea came unsweetened and I found that it still tasted pretty good without having to add any sugar.
The masala dosa wrap that I had was pretty good as well. The wrap was similar to a fluffy pancake, with the exterior lightly charred, imparting a nice smokey flavour. The filling was of potatoes and a medley of vegetables such as capsicum, onion, lettuce and tomatoes and paired really well with the homemade tomato chutney sauce.

What’s good: Burgers
Located at Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, 25 Degrees Burger Bar is an American diner that boasts award winning burgers that have won the “Great American Burger Competition” thrice.
They are open 24 hours, which is great and super convenient! I also love that you can craft your own burger with ingredients you love! Do note that for the sides, only the American Fries can be made gluten-free.

Craft your own burger – Ground USA Sirloin, caramelized onion, vegan cheese, GF bun

Right: Mint Julep – mint syrup, mint leaves, lemon, ginger ale

Basket of sauces: Heinz yellow mustard, Heinz tomato ketchup, Tobasco sauce (habanero, pepper and green pepper)
Each table has a basket of Heinz and Tobasco sauces for you to add to your burger. All sauces are gluten-free, except for Heinz “The Secret Sauce”.
All burgers come with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. All the veggies were super fresh and I unexpectedly enjoyed the pickle, which was crisp and not overly sour. I crafted my own burger with ground USA Sirloin, caramelized onion, vegan cheese and gluten-free bun. The patty was recommended to be cooked at medium doneness. Overall I enjoyed the burger. The patty was nicely cooked and juicy, and the bun was surprisingly soft and fluffy. Fries were nice and crunchy as well.

Fermented rice noodle with crab curry 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Custard apples in coconut cream and blue pea syrup

Crab curry poured into the noodles

Dedicated gluten-free menu
The Fermented rice noodle with crab curry was excellent! The curry came in a separate bowl which you will need to pour onto the plate of noodles. The noodles had a side of pickled radish, pomelo, green beans, herbs which included dill, Thai basil and wild pepper leaves.
The curry was rich, robust and creamy. There were also large chunks of crab meat which were juicy and succulent. A word of caution is that this dish is pretty spicy and left me crying and eating at the same time 😂 Just be aware that whenever you see that a dish is indicated as “spicy” in Bangkok, it will be super spicy!
The Custard apples in coconut cream and blue pea syrup was simple yet delightful. This is a sweetened shaved ice dessert with coconut meat on top and custard apples buried at the bottom. The blue pea syrup did not have a specific flavour or taste, just that it imparts a pretty blue colour. The custard apples are the main star here. They were incredibly sweet and had a subtle natural floral flavour which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Massilia Italian Restaurant

- Vegan options
Cuisine: Italian
Address: 15, 1 Soi Ruamrudee Community, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand – Map
What’s good: Pizzas
Massilia Italian Restaurant began as a humble pizza truck back in 2015, and has grown into a culinary landmark in Thailand since, earning accolades as the best pizzeria from 2021 to 2025. Their dough is naturally leavened dough for 72 hours, and wood-fired perfection, using only the finest ingredients from Italy.
All pizzas on the menu can be made gluten-free for an additional 100THB. Though some flavours sadly cannot be made dairy free, such as their award-winning signature pizza.

Pizza margherita with extra mushrooms (GF base and vegan mozarella)

Pizza calabria spicy salami (GF base and vegan mozarella)
Both pizzas had a generous amount of fresh toppings. For the Pizza margherita, I added extra mushrooms as I wanted some extra fibre. For both pizzas, dairy cheese was swapped for vegan cheese, of which a vegan mozarella was used. It had a nice creamy and soft texture with a nice melty stretch that mimicked the real thing. Taste-wise though I would say that it was more aged in flavour instead of a mild flavour I was expecting from a mozarella.
Being wood fired, these pizzas were naturally flavourful. The exterior crust was crispy and nicely charred, imparting a nice smoky flavour while the inside retained a nice soft texture. My only complaint would be that the centre of the pizza dough was a bit thin, so it soaked up the sauces pretty quickly and was a little bit soggy after a while. Other than that, these pizzas tasted pretty good and would be a great stop for anyone craving wood-fired pizzas.

Pistachio ice cream in a cup

I tried the Pistachio ice cream in a cup. The ice cream had bits of pistachio in it, and the taste of pistachio was mild. Sweetness was just right, and the texture was on the lighter side. Overall not bad.

Molly Ally at Emquartier

Chocolate ice cream in a cup
I tried the chocolate ice cream here at Molly Ally. It had a slightly stickier texture which was interesting, and reminded me almost of gelato. Texture-wise, it was also similar to Hebe in which in they are both on the lighter side. For those who prefer lighter kind of ice cream, this would suit you.
For reference, heavier or creamier brands of ice cream would be Kind Kones in Singapore or Van Leeuwen in New York, which uses a blend of fattier and heavier milks like cashew and coconut milk.
